Community in Chiropractic: Wellness in the World

The Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice (ACFP) represents a collaborative of individuals whose purpose is to honor and promote the ideology that life expresses an inborn intelligence. We recognize this intelligence manifests in all levels of existence and the structure and function of the Academy's collaborative community is representative of this.

The intention of the ACFP is to connect individuals and groups within the Academy to form a community mutually striving for a paradigm shift that honors and promotes individual responsibility for health and vitality.

The Academy and its participants are collectively impacting and modeling a way of thinking that is imprinting the wellness ideology worldwide.

.One purpose of the Academy is to offer professional board recognition of specialty programs relevant to chiropractic family practice. It accomplishes this through collaboration with academic and clinical leaders in the chiropractic profession to fulfill the need for promoting evidenced informed family practice.

The Academy evaluates and endorses international post graduate certification and diplomate programs relevant to family care by participating in course development, test compilation, administration, grading and certification of eligible candidates for chiropractic family practice board certifications. This includes but is not limited to: Certifications and Diplomates in Pediatrics, Perinatal Care, Women’s Health, and Specialty Techniques relevant to family wellness. The Academy consists of the Academy Board, its Specialty Councils and its Advisors. These doctors make up an international  community of expert clinical and academic representatives to establish post graduate content and the advancement of specialty programs within the profession.

The Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice establishes and improves the quality of chiropractic practice by assisting the Academy Councils in their efforts to develop and utilize evidenced informed professional and educational standards for the certification of chiropractors. The intent of both the initial certification and the maintenance of certification is to provide assurance to the public that a chiropractor certified by a Council of the ACFP has successfully completed a board approved educational program and evaluation process which includes components designed to assess the knowledge, judgment, professionalism and clinical and communication skills required to provide quality patient care in that specialty. The Academy serves to coordinate and oversee the activities of its Councils and to provide information concerning issues involving certification of family practice chiropractors.

The Academy is a 501-C3 non-profit organization. Contributing members support the advancement of post graduate courses and research projects for the benefit of the entire profession. Academy membership is open to chiropractors who are in accordance with its principles and purpose relating to chiropractic family practice.

We welcome you in our collaboration within chiropractic, with chiropractors committed to the advancement of family chiropractic care.
